How to host events

Help build the momentum of the campaign by hosting community meetings, campus events, or campaign fundraisers.

  • Roles needed: Host, presenter(s), outreach team, tabling volunteers

Best for: Engaging community members on the issues closest to them and how they relate to a socialist program for California

    Materials needed:

Instructions: Assess the issues most relevant to the community that would bring people together. Organize an event discussing these issues through the lens of what solutions exist to address these concerns, the avenue to these solutions, and—in contrast—what capitalist politicians offer us.

The program should include one or multiple brief talks and plenty of space for discussion. A strong facilitator should be selected to chair the event, encourage engagement, and deepen the conversation.

Make sure to print plenty of campaign materials and collect sign-ups!

Follow-up: Input new sign-ups in a spreadsheet and share with info@ramsey4gov.com.

  • Roles needed: presenter, moderator/host, tabling, outreach

Best for: Reaching new people, raising the campaign’s profile, explore deeper issues of the campaign program

    Location: Campus or another space

    Materials needed:

    Instructions:

Organize an on-campus event through a student group(s), or invite them to a forum held at another space. Questions should be developed in advance and shared with the other organizations. Consider important local issues that can be taken up through the questions given to the speakers.

Reach out to the Ramsey campaign at info@ramsey4gov.com to connect with a local organizer who can serve as a representative of the campaign.

Print plenty of campaign materials and set up a table for people to get involved.

Follow-up: Input contacts in a spreadsheet and share with info@ramsey4gov.com.

  • It takes a lot of people power and funds to make this campaign run. We want to maximize the visibility of our socialist program and put forth the idea that California should serve the people, not the billionaires. The resources exist to meet people’s needs and only the political will of the ultra-rich and their paid-for-politicians stands in the way.

You can help us support the Ramsey for Governor campaign efforts. All funds go directly to outreach materials, social media advertising, campaign events, and other resources that amplify the campaign’s message.

How can you help? Consider hosting a fundraiser/house party, sending a donation pitch to your contact list or promoting donations on social media.

All donations should be made on the website here.
